Responsibilities: To advance the
grants profession. Its purpose is to (a) clarify and define the grants
profession, including the documentation of standards and common practices; (b)
document the development of the canon of knowledge for the profession; and (c)
encourage contributions to the knowledge base of the field.
• Author of Positive Papers
• Design demographic surveys
• Identify and engage in activities that move grant professional agenda to the
public arena
• Development of communities of Special
Interest Groups
• Perform research on topic of academic degree in grantsmanship
• Review other organizations of similar scope in context of future AAGP Board
Configuration
• Revise the policies and procedures of the AAGP Journal
o Present to Board for approval at June 8-10 Meeting
• Publish two AAGP journals
• Write policies and procedures for AAGP position papers
o Present to Board for June 8-10 meeting
• Publish at least one AAGP position paper
o Final draft of the position paper to be approved at November 2007 Board meeting
• Create policies and procedures for the establishment of a Speaker’s Bureau
o Present to Board for June 8-10 meeting
Time Commitments:
• The Committee meets via telephone for 1 to 2 hours per month.
• Members are expected to serve on at least one subcommittee. Subcommittees will generally meet twice per month and require an additional 4 to 8 hours of effort.
